1. Munich – City orientation tour/sightseeing programme

PROGRAMM FEATURES:

Your private driver guide will take you on your city tour of Munich. Major sights include the Königsplatz with its Greek and Roman inspired architectural setting, Ludwigstraße and the university quarter of Schwabing. After a photo stop at Nymphenburg Castle, once the summer residence of the Bavarian kings we will continue to the soccer stadium Allianz Arena, home ground of FC Bayern Munich, for a live guided tour there.

2. Full-day-tour from Munich to Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castles

PROGRAMM FEATURES:

Find out about the myth of King Ludwig II, the most enigmatic of the Bavarian Kings. Known for his affinity with extravagance and fine arts he was called “The Fairy Tale King”. Herrenchiemsee and Linderhof castles are considered as his top architectural achievements. Neuschwanstein, a two-hours- drive from Munich is the best known and, regarding its setting, most spectacular of the royal Bavarian castles. It served as inspiration for Walt Disney`s fairy tale castles. Our route will take you through the beautiful Upper Bavarian landscape offering you a great many impressions of the marvellous Alpine scenery. Guided tour in English of the castle.

 

Following lunch continue to Linderhof Castle via Oberammergau, the village famous of its Passion Play. You will see a lot of houses whose walls are painted in the style of the so called “Lüftmalerei” depicting religious motifs and scenes from every-day-life. From Oberammergau it is a short drive to Linderhof, the most intimate of Ludwig`s castles. Option of a guided tour of the castle and/or in the gardens.

3. Full-day-excursion to Salzburg and Chiemsee 

PROGRAMM FEATURES:

On the way to Salzburg we will make a stop at Chiemsee (Lake Chiem) in the region of Chiemgau 90 km East of Munich. With weather conditions allowing you will catch fine views of the marvellous Alpine scenery. Chiemsee is the largest lake in Bavaria and by the locals called the “Bavarian Sea”.

We continue our journey to Salzburg. The magnificent Baroque city is world famous for its great music tradition. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart spent his childhood and youth there, the town seems to reverberate with his work. On our walking tour we will pass through Getreidegasse where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in 1756. After lunch free time for shopping or a break at a coffee house. On the return trip to Munich optional boat tour on Lake Chiem. Back to Munich in the early evening.
